What Is An Action Alert

What is an Action Alert?

An Action Alert is a grassroots tool that makes advocacy easy for you. Each Action Alert includes a discussion of an advocacy issue followed by a pre-written e-mail that you can send to an elected official(s) with the click of a button.

These alerts may be forwarded to anyone giving others the opportunity to participate in each advocacy campaign. The true power of any advocacy campaign lies within the collective voice of hundreds and thousands of concerned citizens.

CCA Washington has used Action Alerts for a variety of advocacy issues including:

  • Asking WDFW’s Director to end commercial gillnetting in a Sturgeon Sanctuary;
  • Asking legislators for funding to support hatcheries and hatchery production;
  • Asking the Fish & Wildlife Commission to increase the recreational allocation of Dungeness Crab;
  • Asking legislators to support a bill reducing derelict nets in Puget Sound;
  • Thanking legislators for taking a stand to end gillnet use in the Columbia River;
  • Asking legislators to keep in tact the Fish & Wildlife Commission.
